Marriage Equality
If same sex couples want to marry why should they be discriminated against? Same sex attracted Australians should be treated equally. Marriage inequality fosters discrimination in other areas. Marriage inequality has an adverse impact on health and well-being.
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa and Sweden all allow same sex couples to marry.
It is unfair and discriminatory to deny same sex couples legal access to civil marriage and to all its attendant benefits, rights and responsibilities.
It's the right thing to do. It's time to remove discriminatory legislation based on sexual orientation and gender identity and allow marriage equality. It's about dignity and respect: valuing diversity and enjoying an inclusive society.
