Speaking against location of a skate park at ford oval. Fishpen, Merimbula and Ford Oval are already dangerously congested in holiday season. Further development there will increase congestion/traffic and reduce open green space. Berrambool Sports Ground is closer to residential areas with young people who can access the skate park easily. Berambool Sports Ground is under utilised and has lots of space available as well as toilets etc. It would be wise for Council to invest our taxes more broadly when creating community facilities, rather than overdeveloping an already well used site with playgrounds and sports facilities already there. To consider two suites is a waste of the community’s and council staff time. |
