Item 1.1

1.1Change of Date - Council meeting

There is a Council Meeting scheduled for 11 August 2021 which is during caretaker period with no further meetings scheduled during the current term of Council. This report recommends that this Council meeting date be moved to 18 August 2021.

Chief Executive Officer

Officer’s Recommendation

That the Council Meeting scheduled for 11 August 2021 be held on 18 August 2021.

Executive Summary

This report recommends Council move its scheduled Council Meeting date of 11 August 2021 to 18 August 2021.

Background

After the meeting of 4 August 2021 Council will enter caretaker period which limits the type of decisions that can be made by Council. After 11 August 2021 there are no further Council meetings scheduled during the current term of Council.

One of the key remaining items to be presented to the current Council is the end of term report. By changing the meeting date from 11 August to 18 August 2021 it will allow more time for the end of term report to be finalised as well as minimise the time between the last meeting of the current Council and the first meeting of the new Council. This will allow Council to continue to function with limited impact due to the election.

Options

Council may choose to remain with the current meeting schedule, adopt the recommendation or make further amendments to the meeting schedule.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

There has not been any external engagement undertaken, should Council adopt the recommendation to change meeting date public notification will be undertaken.
